When it comes to innovation, one of the biggest challenges is connecting those who are driving it with those who will use it. Together, the ACC and AngelMD are committed to making this connection by helping increase the exchange of knowledge in cultivating, advising, evaluating, and investing in the most relevant technology solutions within cardiovascular health. Our ultimate goal is to advance and improve cardiovascular care.

AngelMD connects cardiovascular professionals with startups specializing in cardiology and enables them to advise and invest in what they know through AngelMD's syndicate funding platform.

The partnership will bring content to the AngelMD and ACC websites, newsletters, blogs, and social media platforms. Make sure to keep an eye out for new content and upcoming events.

ACC's Chief Innovation Officer, John Rumsfeld, MD, PhD, FACC joined AngelMD at our 2018 Alpha Conference as a physician society panelist. He joined the CMIO of the American Medical Association, Michael Hodgkins, MD, and the CEO of the North American Spine Society, Eric Muehlbauer in discussing how to enable innovation without compromising regulation, physician burnout, and more.

Dr. John Simpson, MD, PhD

Dr. Simpson revolutionized the field of medicine through innovations that have fundamentally altered how physicians treat cardiovascular disease. He invented and commercialized the first over-the-wire balloon catheter used for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). This single idea created the field of interventional cardiology as we know it today.

Billy Cohn, MD

Dr. Billy Cohn is a noted cardiovascular surgeon, as well as the Director of the new Center for Device Innovation at the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Cohn has more than 90 US patents granted or pending for his medical innovations that have provided the core technology for six venture-backed medical startups.
